Nonlinear Crystal The nonlinear optical (NLO) crystals are used in frequency conversion
for lasers.

Laser Crystal Laser crystals are used to generate laser radiations. The commonly used laser crystals include Nd:YAG, Nd:YVO4 and Nd:YLF for near IR lasers, and Ti:Sapphire for tunable near IR output. Specifically, Nd:YVO4, for
diode pumped solid state lasers were developed because diode pumping attracts more and more interest of both R&D and OEM customers.

AO & EO Crystal A piezoelectric transducer is bonded to an anisotropic medium. When an electrical signal is applied to this transducer to generate ultrasonic
waves which are propagated through the medium, a three dimensional
grating was formed by virtue of refractive index variation associated with
the traveling acoustic wave. The incident beam passing through the
medium will be coupled into several symmetrical diffraction orders, just
as in a two-dimensional diffraction grating.
There are two kinds of E-O modulations. One is longitudinal E-O
modulation if the directions of electric field and light propagation are the
same. The KDP isomorphic crystals are normally used in this scheme.
If the directions of electric field and light propagation are perpendicular,
it is called transverse E-O modulation. The LiNbO3, MgO:LiNbO3,
ZnO:LiNbO3, BBO and KTP crystals are usually employed in this

Optical Crystal Optical crystals & glass, such as Quartz, YVO4, Calcite, a-BBO,
LiNbO3, Undoped YAG, Sapphire, Spinel, CaF2, MgF2, Ge, Si, GaAs,
BaF2, LiF, Quartz, BK7, ZnSe, ZnS, UV Grade Fused Silica, etc. are
widely used in IR optics and UV optics. Laser Century manufactures high transparency and low loss optical windows, prisms, lenses, achromatic lenses and parallel planes by these optical materials.
